If you want to transfer any University as business major, you should take CSC105 class. CSC105 is really important class to be required when you try to transfer. This class teaches general computer skills for business.
Actually, I was afraid of taking this class because this class looked very sticky and boring. But, after taking class at last spring semester, I learned a lots of things related to the computers and can get a confidence about basic computer skills.
At first, this class generally is divided 4 parts: Excel, Access, (VB)Visual Basic, (VBA)Visual Basic for application. Many students are familiar to Excel and Access as I was. In Excel class, I learned how to make charts and use function efficiently. In Access class, I learned how to organize the criteria and manage customs. For example, lets assume you have a video store. If you manage many customers, you can easily access customers by name, address, favorite video, and their history, which would make you easily manage your customers. I think that those parts don't hard for you to follow.
Some students might know VB(Visual basic). It enables the rapid application development of graphical user interface applications. VB makes you access to database by using access objects. In other words, through this class, you can learn how to design interface and access data by putting objects. It was interesting to me.
In my experience, the most difficult part was VBA(Visual Basic for Application.) VBA is similar to VB, but performs differently. VBA class could give you how to manage for business. For instance, I learned how to calculate retirement grants automatically. If I put the any age in excel, this program automatically show the estimated retirement grants. But, you should write on code completely for performing. A little mistakes like misspelling doesn't allow the computer to execute well, which often made me irritated. Honestly, I was very irritated while studying the VBA. However, after understanding the VBA, I recognized how the awesome program the VBA is.
Finally, I got A in this class. "No pains, No gains."
I'd likely to recommend this class if you are planning to transfer as business or become business men. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
